Hoia-Baciu Natural Area resulted from remapping the central Someș-Nadăș interfluve in accordance to topography, prewar forestry and structural limits of the region. Numerous points of interest conglomerate within an area of more than 1500 hectares, making this the largest green system of Cluj metropolitan area. This new, unifying concept helps prioritize the strategies towards sustainable planning of territory, capitalizing on the area’s popularity among the residents as a nature retreat. Presently, the pursuit is blurred by a prevalent splintered view of isolated forest bodies in Hoia, and is challenged by pressing metropolitan traffic matters and administrative divisions between Cluj, Florești and Baciu.
